Born in Columbus, Ohio, I graduated from OSU and then studied to be a college math professor (Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico in 1967), but after several years teaching at Bowling Green State University (Ohio) and the University of Pittsburgh, PA, I got sidetracked into a career in computers and eventually in publishing. I retired in 1999 from a 25-year career with Ziff-Davis Publishing Company in New York where I had been Vice President of Circulation Systems. Now Mary Ann (my wife) and I "do genealogy", enjoy our Gettysburg home, and travel.

Christmas 2006 update

My former ISP (Adelphia) has been bought out by Comcast and so I have been working on an emailing to correspondents announcing the fact. This has led me to review emails over the past 4 years and I've found several that have renewed some research lines. I encourage anyone interested in the family history of Ramaleys (Remaleys, Remalys, etc.) to please contact me.

I am sorry to report the death in February of my uncle, David Ramaley. He encouraged me in my genealogical research as well as providing me the experience of his own research and contacts. He celebrated his 96th birthday in January, one of the most advanced Ramaley's I have had the pleasure of knowing. He is already missed.

I have some 14,000 descendants of Ambrose and I still have some significant gaps that I am working to fill.
